"This painting is a record of my very first attempt to interpret the iconic Catalina Mountains from the unique perspective of Oro Valley. I was motivated to capture the sense of life and saturation of the desert after a rainy period, focusing on the vibrant greens of the ocotillo, saguaros, and surrounding plant life. This work represents a personal step in my process—translating the majesty of a familiar mountain range for the first time, while celebrating the diverse flora of the Arizona landscape." -Daniel Griffin
